At work…

Yesterday my project manager told me that we would get a new project. It’s the 5th project as of yet. All projects were in the name of 5 IT companies. All having a biiiig name (no not Microsoft). .In a way I like it. It is different from anything I have done before and surprisingly I am doing a damned good job.

The past week they sent (all in all) 16 co-workers home because of the “current situation”. I am not sure if it was because of the financial situation or rather because they sucked at their job because they are actually looking for new people…

The Unit’s Basketball Season started

So I am just sitting here in the post’s gym and watching the guys warming up for todays game. There are all these black & gold banners on the wall showing the past wins of the Lady Generals. Softball Champions, Volleyball Champions of 97, 98 and Basketball Champions of 2002. They won a lot more but I am just too lazy to count them all plus my battery is about to die. There are not that many people on the bleachers as there were last week. I don’t know why, maybe it is just too early. Nevertheless the guys seem to be motivated. Q is shooting one ball after another and it looks like he is in a good rythm even though he didn’t eat a whole lot. Q is the number 25 today. They don’t have real uniforms. They want to get some and he would love to design them. You know, he is big on designing things. He is designing his second unit coin (he designed one when he was in korea and now he is designing one for his company) and wants to design those uniforms so bad. That’s my baby, always creative. He designed his own shoes, shirts, jerseys… I don’t know what else he designed but he is good at what he’s doing. He wants to get a degree in Graphic design and I am sure he can do it.

SGT R. is so funny; he asked me if I want to play Basketball with them. I just told him that I haven’t played in like 15 years and that they’d only lose with me and he was like “I haven’t played in 20 years… so what, it’s just a game.”

You gotta love these guys. Last time they won, I am positive they will win again today. One of the major keys of winning is having fun and from what I can see they have a lot of fun at this time.

Our first date

I just went through my pictures to delete those I don’t need. I forgot I took pictures from our very first date. We never went on a date before we became a couple. We just hung out with friends or met accidently on the street. We started emailing each other when he went on TDY and when he came back we became a couple. We just never had a date until that one night when we decided to go on one. We went downtown for window shopping, had some slush ice, it was around november so it was way to cold and it gave me a brainfreeze too and I was like “Brainfreeze, brainfreeze…uuuuuh brainfreeze…” I wanted to be brave yet I bounced up and down yelling “Brainfreeze…” all over the place. People started to stare at us but we both didn’t really care about it anyway.

We walked around the cathedral and there is this small place which is part of a restaurant opposite the cathedral that I love. It is directly build into the cathedral and only big enough for maybe two or three couples. It is so very romantic and I so want to go there one of these days. The picture says it all, doesn’t it?

On our way back we went to a cosy restaurant to have dinner. I would recommend this place for this date.

It gives you this warm fuzzy feeling with all its carvings, ornaments and decorations. It is the perfect place when you’ve been outside in the cold for a while.

A beautiful place for a first date, isn’t it?

After dinner we went back to the tram station. I didn’t notice that I forgot my ticket and we were caught with no ticket of all days and had to pay € 80 because of that.

Except for the “getting caught on tram” part it was one of the best dates I have ever had in my life, especially going for window shopping and to pretend to be billionaires. That was a lot of fun.

Stop whining!

I just read this German blog where they talked about the current fiancial situation. It’s said that it is going to be worse than the big depression in the 30’s. That man that gave the interview is internationally recognized and known, still… something I noticed in Germany is: German people love to whine about anything and everything. I myself refuse to whine and complain. It’s rough times but what do they expect us to do? Moan? Cry or complain all day long? NO! I refuse to have a pitty party! If you want to pitty yourself…fine go ahead but don’t give me that feeling that I should feel pitty too. If that’s the case than I’d have to cry all day long and you know what? That is not going to happen!

I love to laugh, I love to have fun, I love to go out and I love to spend my money responsibly. If I need something I get it. If I want something and can afford it guess what, I buy it. If I can’t afford I just don’t get it. It’s as simple as that. I don’t have a credit card because I don’t need one. I get along fine with the debit card and paypal. I don’t need a big car, a big house to be happy because there is one thing I have learned, money doesn’t make you happy at all. I am grown up with lots and lots of money. It just doesn’t make you happy. Q makes me happy, every single day. Of course you need money to survive but we have enough for the both of us. We are not starving, we can go out once in a while, we can afford to buy something that we want even if we don’t need it and to put some money on the side. Financial crisis my ass. I am not saying that there isn’t a financial crisis. All I am saying is that people should stop moaning, whining and complaining about it because that doesn’t change anything at all. It is one more reason to stop watching the news. It just makes me feel miserable and I don’t like being miserable!
