So Chris, Jess and I packed up the dogs (Max the Shiloh Shepherd on the right with Jess, Ronja the Malinois with Chris on left and my youngest bitch Indra in the middle), took the previously prepared Christmas bags with lots of candy and met at the PX. The plan was to go from CQ to CQ to spread Christmas joy and lots of cheer to the once that have to work on Christmas Eve.
I should mention that Chris and her husband have been doing this for quite a few years. Every year they would go and visit the folks that are working on Christmas Eve.
First we went to the dog park, to let the dogs run. After they burned off some energy we went on with our mission. Three very happy Soldiers from the 1BCT welcomed us. It looked like they had a blast with the dogs and enjoyed the distraction from Staff Duty.
They also took the picture of us standing in front of the Christmas Tree.

After that we went to the next buildings and found them locked. From there we decided to visit the 3BCT and stopped in two places.
The dogs behaved very well. They loved all the attention, hugs and snuggles from the Soldiers and the Soldiers seemed to enjoy the short break.
After 3BCT we went to the MP Station and last but not least to the Fire-station. That was my personal favorite of all. They invited us in and had a real blast. I am certain they would have loved to keep Max, the Shiloh Shepherd with them as a mascot. I know that I had a lot of fun. It was much better being out there instead of sitting home and thinking about my family back in Germany. The dogs, Soldiers and three of us had a blast. I can’t wait for our next great adventure on Ft.Drum.
I am also glad to have two great friends like Chris and Jess. I am thankful for their friendship. Both of them have made the transition from Germany to the US a lot easier.
Thank you girls. Thank you for being friends and thanks for the great Christmas Adventure on Ft.Drum.
